Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that there were short-term and long-term threats from Hezbollah, but all threats were defeated during the war. He noted that Hezbollah possessed more than 150,000 missiles aimed at Israel to support a planned terrorist attack.
To counter the group's attack, Israel secured a deal with Lebanon ensuring a demilitarized zone in southern Lebanon free of military activity.
