Building on the Jacksonville Jaguars' three-year, $60 million extension with wide receiver Jakobi Meyers ($40 million guaranteed), team leaders have praised his immediate impact since arriving via trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. Meyers' reliability and route-running have fueled a recent five-game winning streak.
As previously reported, the Jaguars acquired Meyers near the trade deadline in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round picks and quickly agreed to the extension, keeping the 29-year-old through 2028 and averting free agency.
Since debuting in Week 10, Meyers has posted 27 receptions for 355 yards and three touchdowns with just one drop—a trait GM James Gladstone emphasized post-trade: "We're looking forward to seeing how his skill set fits within the system... what's his superpower? It's not dropping the football."
Meyers has thrived on routes over the middle, leading the NFL with eight catches on 11 targets for 160 yards on 'In' routes during the Jaguars' five-game winning streak, coinciding with QB Trevor Lawrence's best stretch.
Coach Liam Coen lauded the fit: "We had a lot of respect for Jakobi... knowing that he was going to be able to come in and make an immediate impact... He's been huge for our offense."
