The Kenya Wildlife Service has reduced entry fees for students visiting several national parks and reserves. The offer runs through the end of July and includes some free admissions for groups. It contrasts with recent price increases at museums across the country.
The Kenya Wildlife Service announced lower rates for students from nursery through university level. In premium parks such as Amboseli and Lake Nakuru the fee drops from 750 to 500 shillings. Nairobi and Tsavo parks now charge students 400 shillings instead of 500.
School buses also benefit. Vehicles with 25 to 44 seats pay 3,000 shillings while larger buses pay the same amount, down from previous rates of 4,500 and 5,000 shillings. For every 100 paying students groups receive 10 free entries and up to three teachers enter without charge. Children under six remain free.
The discounts apply from March through July 31. Additional savings of 10 percent are available on Saturdays Sundays and Mondays at all parks managed by the service. The program is called Ji-achile in Kenya Parks.
The move comes after the National Museums of Kenya raised admission charges at museums and heritage sites beginning May 7 under new regulations introduced in 2025.
