Lego Announces Twelve New Pokémon Smart Play Sets

The Lego Group and The Pokémon Company have revealed 12 new sets that incorporate the Lego Smart Play System. The sets go on sale August 1 with pre-orders available now.

The new sets allow children to attach a Lego Smart Tag to brick-built items. This lets them feed a Lego Pikachu or tickle a Lego Charizard for reactions such as joyful laughs. The more play occurs the stronger the bond becomes ahead of battles. The collection includes Training House with Pikachu, Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle and Mewtwo's Lab Break among others. Prices start at 19.99 dollars for smaller sets and reach 119.99 dollars for the largest battle scene. Pre-orders opened immediately through the Pokémon Center and Lego websites. Lego Stores and select retailers worldwide will stock the sets from August 1.
