Lil Wayne wins $29,225 judgment against security guard

A California judge has ordered a security guard and his lawyer to pay Lil Wayne $29,225 plus legal fees after dismissing a lawsuit that accused the rapper of assault.

The ruling came after the court terminated the case in April 2026 for repeated failure to comply with discovery orders. A judgment signed Wednesday held plaintiff Christian Carlos and his attorney jointly liable for the sanctions.

The lawsuit, filed in December 2023, alleged that Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., pointed a semiautomatic rifle at Carlos and punched him during an incident at the rapper's Hidden Hills residence. Carlos claimed the event caused severe emotional distress and financial losses.

Lil Wayne's lawyer, Ashlee Difuntorum, said the musician denied the allegations from the start. She noted that Carlos failed to provide basic information about the claimed injuries and that the court sanctioned the plaintiff for abuse of the discovery process.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department had investigated a verbal altercation at the same address in December 2021 but did not name Carter in its statement.
