Linus Karlsson says passion for HV71 has cooled

Linus Karlsson, now with the Vancouver Canucks, has returned to Husqvarna Garden with Tre Kronor and admitted that his boyhood love for HV71 has somewhat diminished. The player from Landsbro shared his thoughts in an interview with JP ahead of his national team duties. He now follows Skellefteå more closely.

Linus Karlsson grew up in Landsbro rooting for HV71, often traveling with his family to Jönköping to watch the team play. Those early experiences shaped his initial passion for the club. However, years later, his connection has changed, he told JP this week. Karlsson trained with HV71 as a junior hoping to earn a spot but never heard back from the team. “It has cooled a bit,” he said. “I trained here as a junior to get a place on the team, but they never got in touch about whether I made it or not. So at that point, some feelings for HV disappeared, but a small HV heart remains.” The Vancouver Canucks forward now considers Skellefteå his favorite Swedish team after playing there for a season. He follows their playoff run closely and expects them to claim another championship. Karlsson is back at Husqvarna Garden this week representing Tre Kronor.
