The meeting occurred as the Reds wrapped up batting practice and the Angels prepared for theirs. Mike Trout joined the brothers in conversation, creating a lighthearted moment amid their professional rivalry. David Lowe watched his sons compete in the major leagues for the first time together since Wendy's death. Nathaniel Lowe described his mother's resilience last month, telling reporters, “A lot of people with her type of cancer are gone a whole lot sooner. So for her to give it 33 months of fight was something pretty special. But at the end of the day, I’m happy she’s done hurting. I’m glad she can rest. She gave us a great life and she was a great mom. You can’t really ask for a lot more other than that.” Hours later, he hit a three-run home run in a spring training game against the Dodgers. Josh Lowe spoke about his father before the game: “Yeah, he's doing OK. He's excited to be here and see his two sons playing in the big leagues, and it's gonna be a great night.” The brothers keep conversations light, mixing family time with occasional baseball talk. They closely follow each other's performances, with Josh noting texts after games. Entering the matchup, Josh batted .091 with one home run and three RBIs over 12 games, while Nathaniel hit .214 with two RBIs in seven games. Josh added a home run in the sixth inning Friday.
