Naglabas ng 1,297 special bus permits ang LTFRB para sa Holy Week

Naglabas ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ng 1,297 special permits sa mga bus upang tugunan ang inaasahang pagdami ng pasahero sa panahon ng Holy Week. Ayon kay LTFRB Chairman Vigor Mendoza II, layunin nito na magbigay ng sapat na sasakyan habang naglalakbay ang mga Pilipino patungong probinsya. Mga ahensya rin ng pamahalaan ang naghanda para sa inaasahang mataas na trapiko at pasahero.

MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ng LTFRB na naglabas ito ng special permits sa 1,297 bus upang harapin ang Holy Week exodus. Sinabi ni Chairman Vigor Mendoza II na inaasahan ang mas maraming commuter ngayong taon dahil sa lumalaking presyo ng gasolina, kaya mas pipiliin ng ilan ang pampublikong transportasyon.

Gayunpaman, nagbawas ng biyahe ang ilang operator sa Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) patungong Batangas City, San Jose, Nueva Ecija at Pangasinan dahil sa mataas na gastusang gasolina, ayon kay PITX spokesman Jason Salvador. Sa Baguio City naman, bumawas ng 30 hanggang 50 porsyento ang biyahe ng mga bus, na nagresulta sa mas mahabang paghihintay, sabi ng BCPO-TEU chief Police Lt. Col. James Allen Dogao.

Iba pang ahensya ang handa rin. Inaasahan ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) na 2.46 milyong pasahero sa mga pantalan, na 50,000 higit kaysa noong nakaraang taon. Ang Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) naman ay 6.5 milyong pasahero mula March 29 hanggang April 5. Sa NLEX, normal pa ang trapiko pero inaasahan ang pagtaas hanggang 3 porsyento, ayon kay Robin Ignacio ng NLEX Corporation.

Nagpatupad ng 'Biyaheng Arangkada' ang Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation mula March 27 hanggang April 6. Nagtaas din ng alert ang Philippine Coast Guard na may 17,000 personnel, sabi ni Commodore Noemie Cayabyab. At magdedeklara ng 'code white alert' ang Department of Health mula March 30 hanggang April 6 sa mga ospital.
