Amazon MGM Studios has signed a first-look deal with author Mercedes Ron. The agreement expands an existing partnership that has produced major hits for Prime Video. Ron will serve as executive producer on upcoming adaptations of her work.
The deal was announced on June 26 by Nicole Clemens, VP and head of U.K. and international originals at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, during an event in Los Angeles. Ron's "Culpables" trilogy adaptations have drawn more than 100 million viewers worldwide, and English-language versions such as "My Fault: London" continue to perform strongly.
Under the agreement, Ron will executive produce future projects including "Drawn Together," scheduled for release on September 9. The U.S. team is also developing "30 Sunsets to Fall in Love" as the first American adaptation of her work.
Ron has sold more than 6 million books in 26 languages. Her next novel, "Drawn Together," is set for publication on August 4. She is represented by WME and Writers House Literary Agency.
"Mercedes Ron is an extraordinary talent whose stories have captured the hearts and imaginations of fans around the world," Clemens said. Ron added that the partnership has been "incredible" and that she looks forward to bringing more stories to the screen.
