A Michigan couple already serving prison time in Tennessee for abusing their adopted daughters has now entered pleas in their home state on similar charges. Jessica Klimp pleaded no contest to two counts of first-degree child abuse, while her husband Jason Klimp had pleaded guilty earlier this year.
The couple faced additional charges after investigators found evidence of severe mistreatment at their Wexford County home. Authorities discovered a man-made straitjacket, security alarms on bedroom doors, and dog cages used to confine the children. The abuse also included starvation and forcing the girls to sleep in a cold basement as punishment for bedwetting.
