Missouri man sentenced to 14 years for second-degree murder

Ramel Morgan, 20, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in a shooting at a Kansas City gas station.

Morgan admitted firing the fatal shots on December 7, 2025. Surveillance footage showed him approaching the victim's silver Mustang and opening fire after a brief conversation.

The victim drove himself to a hospital and was pronounced dead. Police linked the incident to a possible love triangle involving Morgan and an unnamed woman.

Morgan turned himself in weeks after the shooting. Several witnesses identified him in a photo lineup, and one reported that he confessed to the act.
