Police have confirmed the arrest of seven suspects after Friday violence that killed one journalist and injured 20 others in Kisii County.
Detectives have ordered Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda to appear this morning for questioning over the attack on the Linda Mwananchi convoy in Keumbu.
Vincent Osiemo Mapinduzi died in hospital from injuries sustained after falling from a vehicle speeding to evade thrown stones. MPs Clive Gesairo and Obadiah Barongo condemned security agencies and confirmed 20 people were injured.
Governor Simba Arati has denied involvement in the clashes. He claimed opposition leaders released their own goons after finishing peaceful meetings.
