MYIR announces updated Zynq UltraScale+ system-on-module

MYIR has launched the MYC-CZU3EG-V3, an enhanced system-on-module featuring the AMD Zynq UltraScale+ ZU3EG MPSoC. This compact design integrates Arm processors, real-time cores, and FPGA fabric for applications in industrial automation and edge computing. The module targets sectors like machine vision, aerospace, and telecommunications.

The MYC-CZU3EG-V3 builds on the AMD Zynq UltraScale+ ZU3EG MPSoC, combining a quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 application processor operating at up to 1.2 GHz with a dual-core Cortex-R5F real-time subsystem at up to 600 MHz. It includes an Arm Mali-400 MP2 GPU running at up to 667 MHz and programmable logic on a 16 nm FinFET process for hardware acceleration and deterministic I/O. The FPGA offers 154K system logic cells, 141K CLB flip-flops, 71K CLB LUTs, 360 DSP slices, 7.6 Mb block RAM, 1.8 Mb distributed RAM, and 12 AXI PS-to-PL interfaces.

Memory configuration comprises 4 GB of DDR4 SDRAM at 2400 MHz, 8 GB of onboard eMMC, and 64 MB QSPI flash. Onboard components include Gigabit Ethernet and USB PHYs, integrated power management, clock generation, and a watchdog timer, enabling standalone operation. Connectivity is provided via two 160-pin board-to-board connectors supporting PCIe Gen2 x4, USB 3.0, SATA 3.1, DisplayPort 1.2a, SD/SDIO, and serial interfaces like UART, CAN, SPI, and I2C, plus extensive FPGA I/O.

Measuring 60 x 52 mm on a 14-layer PCB, the module operates in commercial (0°C to +70°C) or industrial (-40°C to +85°C) grades. For development, the MYD-CZU3EG-V3 carrier board exposes these interfaces through standard connectors including USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, DisplayPort, PCIe, SATA, HDMI, CAN, SD card, JTAG, Arduino headers, PMOD, and FMC. It includes a preinstalled active heatsink and serves as both an evaluation platform and reference design.

Software support features a Linux 6.6.40 build from PetaLinux 2024.2 with U-Boot 2024.01, alongside Yocto Project compatibility and Linux kernel 6.12. Android support is available on request. MYIR provides a full SDK, drivers for key interfaces, prebuilt PetaLinux images for HDMI and LCD, and AMD Vitis tools for Arm-FPGA development.

Samples are available now, with pricing starting at $319 for the commercial SoM and $429 for the development board. Industrial variants cost $339 and $449, respectively, with volume discounts offered.
