Prosecutors presented surveillance footage and DNA results this week during a preliminary hearing in Provo, Utah, for Tyler Robinson, who is charged with the murder of Charlie Kirk.
The hearing aims to determine if there is enough evidence for Robinson to stand trial. Footage from September 10, 2025, showed a man authorities identified as Robinson on the Utah Valley University campus four times, including moments before and after the shooting. One clip depicted the man climbing a railing and moving into a prone position seconds before Kirk was killed.
DNA evidence from an FBI report indicated that a towel wrapped around a rifle found near the scene contained 95 percent Robinson DNA and 5 percent from his roommate Lance Twiggs. A screwdriver recovered from the area held 89 percent Robinson DNA and 11 percent Twiggs DNA.
Donald Trump Jr. and his wife Bettina attended the sessions and issued a statement supporting Kirk’s widow Erika. They condemned speculation and false narratives surrounding the case.
The evidence also contradicted recent claims by Candace Owens that Robinson was not on campus the day of the shooting.
