Neymar has rejected reports that he mistreated younger players in the Santos dressing room after a recent match. The Brazil forward posted a video on Instagram dismissing the claims as lies.
Neymar scored twice in Santos' 2-2 draw with Chapecoense but faced allegations from Globo that he had spoken harshly to midfielders Gabriel Bontempo and Joao Ananias. The report also claimed he skipped a scheduled training session the next day.
In his Instagram response Neymar said the accusations were false. "That is a total lie," he stated. "Whoever passed that along, please don’t do that. Don’t lie."
He added that accountability talks happened among the whole squad and were normal in football. Neymar is under contract with Santos until the end of the year and has six goals in this Serie A season.
