The Jardín Botánico of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid hosted 52 concerts from June 4 to July 31 with more than 190,000 people in its tenth edition.
The event featured performances by artists such as Van Morrison, Jean-Michel Jarre, Garbage, Love of Lesbian, The Kooks, Biffy Clyro, Tom Jones, Rubén Blades, Nile Rodgers and Zaz. Yerai Cortés, Rigoberta Bandini, Shinova and Ginebras also made their debuts.
The organization highlighted the variety of genres that included rock, jazz, flamenco, electronic, pop and Latin rhythms. Participants included Pat Metheny, Two Door Cinema Club, ZZ Top, Rick Astley, OMD, Babasónicos, Belle & Sebastian, Nu Genea and Elvis Crespo.
Founders Ramón Martín and Julio Martí started the festival ten years ago. The organization described it as the only European event of its kind under the umbrella of a public university.
The festival team has already begun preparations for the next edition.
