Ohio State Auditor Keith Faber has joined the State Financial Officers Foundation, a national group of elected state fiscal officials that says it works to combat waste, fraud and abuse. The move comes as Faber’s office continues to publicize results from audits and investigations involving Medicaid and other state-administered programs.

The Daily Wire reported that Ohio fiscal officials were joining a national coalition focused on rooting out “waste, fraud, and abuse” following its coverage of an Ohio Medicaid-related controversy.
Separately, Faber’s office has highlighted fraud-related enforcement and audit work in recent years, including public interest audit findings tied to Medicaid payments and a tally of criminal convictions secured by the Auditor of State’s Special Investigations Unit since he took office in 2019.
The auditor’s office has also promoted additional ways for the public to report suspected misuse of public resources.
