Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Gujarat's Gir-Somnath district on Saturday evening to join Omkar Mantra chanting at the Somnath temple. From January 10 to 12, he will participate in events across districts, including the inauguration of Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 and a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Gir-Somnath district in the evening of January 10. At 8 pm, he will join the Omkar Mantra chanting at the Somnath temple in Prabhas Patan, followed by viewing a drone show at the temple.
On January 11, at around 9:45 am, Modi will participate in the Shaurya Yatra, a ceremonial procession honoring warriors who defended the Somnath Temple, featuring a march by the Gujarat Police cavalry. At 10:15 am, he will perform darshan and pooja at the temple. Around 11 am, he will attend a public function for the Somnath Swabhiman Parv.
Modi tweeted, "Somnath Swabhiman Parv is a powerful symbol of our spiritual tradition, being celebrated across the country with full devotion, faith, and enthusiasm."
He will then proceed to Rajkot to inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions at 1:30 pm and address the gathering at 2 pm. In the evening, at 5:15 pm in Gandhinagar, he will inaugurate the remaining stretch of Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 from Sector 10A to Mahatma Mandir at the Mahatma Mandir metro station.
On January 12, at 9:30 am, Modi will meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. At 10 am, they will join the International Kite Festival at Sabarmati Riverfront. From 11:15 am, bilateral engagements will follow at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, reviewing the 25-year India-Germany Strategic Partnership.
Due to the visit of PM Modi and Chancellor Merz, a section of the western Sabarmati Riverfront Road from Vadaj crematorium to Ambedkar bridge will be closed to traffic from 7 am to 12 pm on January 12.
