Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Gujarat's Gir-Somnath district on Saturday evening to join Omkar Mantra chanting at the Somnath temple. In the evening, at 5:15 pm in Gandhinagar, he will inaugurate the remaining stretch of Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 from Sector 10A to Mahatma Mandir at the Mahatma Mandir metro station.

On January 12, at 9:30 am, Modi will meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. At 10 am, they will join the International Kite Festival at Sabarmati Riverfront. From 11:15 am, bilateral engagements will follow at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, reviewing the 25-year India-Germany Strategic Partnership.

Due to the visit of PM Modi and Chancellor Merz, a section of the western Sabarmati Riverfront Road from Vadaj crematorium to Ambedkar bridge will be closed to traffic from 7 am to 12 pm on January 12.
