President Prabowo Subianto met French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Tuesday afternoon (April 14, 2026) local time. The tête-à-tête discussed strengthening bilateral ties in priority sectors and global dynamics. It formed part of Prabowo's European diplomatic tour.
President Prabowo Subianto received a guard of honor at the Élysée Palace forecourt. President Macron approached his guest; they embraced, shook hands, and chatted en route to the Salon des Portraits for their tête-à-tête.
The Presidential Secretariat described the meeting as a strategic forum to bolster cooperation on military equipment procurement, defense industry, energy transition and renewables, infrastructure, transport, education, and creative economy. "The tête-à-tête also offered both leaders a chance to exchange views on evolving global dynamics," stated the official release.
This followed Prabowo's extended talks with President Putin in Moscow. Indonesia seeks sustained collaboration with France, a key European partner.
Macron later hosted Prabowo for lunch, described as high-level diplomacy to strengthen personal ties and bilateral foundations.
