Cretin Family, a new supergroup fronted by Billie Joe Armstrong, will perform for the first time at the Official Ramones 50th Anniversary Tribute.
The concert is scheduled for August 30 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The event marks 50 years since the Ramones released their debut album and will include a screening of the 1976 film Carrie.
Cretin Family features Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong on vocals, Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and C.J. Ramone on bass. Proceeds will support cancer research at the Ellison Institute Research Foundation.
John Travolta will host the evening and screen his directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach. In a statement, Travolta said he looks forward to returning for the tribute.
Billie Joe Armstrong noted that the Ramones continue to influence new generations of fans. Similar sentiments were shared by the other performers.
