Purism has released the Librem 16, a new Linux laptop focused on privacy and security. The device succeeds the Librem 15 and offers extensive customization options.
The laptop features a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13620H processor with integrated graphics. It supports up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM and 16TB of storage across two M.2 bays.
PureOS, Purism's Debian-based distribution, comes preinstalled without telemetry. Hardware includes coreboot firmware, disabled Intel Management Engine, and manual kill switches for the camera, microphone, and wireless connectivity.
Pricing starts at $2,899 for the base model with 16GB RAM and 500GB storage. The top preconfigured version reaches $9,799, while fully customized builds can cost up to $11,944. All units ship within 10 business days.
