Raye apologizes to fans over non-final vinyl mix of new album

British singer Raye has issued an apology to fans who purchased the vinyl edition of her new album 'This Music May Contain Hope', explaining that it features a pre-final mix of the tracks. In an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, she described the vinyl as a 'first edition' and urged fans to embrace the differences from digital versions. The album, her second after 2023's 'My 21st Century Blues', arrived on March 27.

Raye, the South London artist, addressed the issue during her discussion with Zane Lowe, highlighting the challenges of finalizing mixes. 'My vinyl is a first edition. I really apologise… I’m apologising to anyone who’s purchased an album,' she said. 'Because you are getting the album. It’s not a fraudulent album. However it is a first edition. I want you to know the digital versions of some of these songs — some are quite different. And you just need to embrace that because I tried my best.' She noted the vinyl was pressed before the mixes were locked in, calling the process 'beautiful but agonizing'.
