RAYE to release new single Nightingale Lane on February 27

British singer-songwriter RAYE is set to drop her latest single, 'Nightingale Lane', this Friday, February 27, 2026. The track serves as the second song on her upcoming second studio album, 'This Music May Contain Hope', due out on March 27, 2026. She teased the song in a YouTube Short earlier this week, sparking excitement among fans.

RAYE, known for her previous work including the single 'Where Is My Husband', shared a preview of 'Nightingale Lane' on February 23, 2026, via a YouTube Short. In the video, she sings the lyrics while wearing a veiled headpiece and a plunge black dress against a white backdrop.

The single's release continues the promotion of her highly anticipated second album, 'This Music May Contain Hope'. During a September 2025 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, RAYE discussed the album's progress, noting it was not yet complete when pre-orders opened. "I've kind of given myself a rough deadline, I would like to say the first third of next year, definitely the first half of next year," she said. Host Graham Norton remarked, "I thought it was done and you were just doing a little polishing," to which RAYE replied, "Oh no, no. Not at all." Guest Emily Blunt inquired if she was still writing, and RAYE confirmed, "It's a beautiful process, but it does take time."

In a January 2026 statement from her label, RAYE elaborated on the album's theme: "Music is medicine, I’ve always said that. I guess I’m in the process of making medicine for myself that I can share with the world. I want us all to say to ourselves that it’s going to be all right, and I’m going to have faith in the seeds that I’ve planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that is a hug, bed or soft place for that person who needs it."

Fans expressed enthusiasm in the comments of the teaser video. One wrote, "Sounds like a classic already, how is this possible?" Another said, "Can see her singing the bond theme tune." A third commented, "Haven't heard adults music like this in a few years. Grown folks music." A fan who saw her perform in Manchester last week added, "Amazing show. Amazing performance. Incredible voice. Im nearly 61 and I've seen many, many concerts over the years. Ive been luck enough to see some of the greats. Trust me, this lady is up there with those greats."

RAYE has built a reputation as a prolific songwriter, co-writing tracks for artists such as Beyoncé ('Bigger', 2019), Charli XCX ('After the Afterparty', 2016), and Little Mix ('Told You So', 2018). She has also collaborated recently with Jade Thirlwall on 'Midnight Cowboy' and 'FUFN (Fuck You for Now)' in 2024, and with Rita Ora on 'Ask & You Shall Receive' in 2024.
