Red Bull Racing delivered a stronger showing at the Miami Grand Prix with Max Verstappen finishing fifth, though the team remains behind the leaders in a tight contest among top squads.
Max Verstappen recovered from a spin on the opening lap of the Miami Grand Prix to finish fifth, overtaking ten cars during a long stint on hard tires. He had also placed fifth in the preceding sprint race after securing a front-row start in qualifying. The Dutch driver noted the team's position by saying, “We're getting there, we're not the same yet,” in response to comments about four teams competing closely, with Mercedes taking victory and Ferrari also competitive. Earlier in the 2026 season Red Bull had struggled for balance, but a major upgrade package introduced at Miami improved the RB22's handling and allowed Verstappen to stay closer to the leaders.
