Kristofer Boman and his family were woken by water flowing into their tent at Kalmar Camping in the night to Wednesday. The sea level had risen about 20 centimeters according to the campsite owner.
The family met SVT Nyheter while cleaning up after the flood. Kristofer Boman described the shock of stepping out into 20 centimeters of water at half past one in the night.
The water did not enter the caravan floor and the family appears to have gotten off lightly. It is not the first time flooding has hit the spot and previous guests have had to move.
Campsite owner Oscar Madsen promised to review the area and fix the issue by winter. He confirmed that the Boman family will receive compensation for the incident.
