Seven in ten Swedes plan to read books on vacation

A new survey shows that seven out of ten Swedes plan to read at least one physical book during vacation and feel better from reading. Librarian Erika Ansén at Uppsala City Library offers advice to avoid stress around summer reading.

The survey from Verian commissioned by Adlibris shows that seven out of ten Swedes feel better when they read. The same number plan to read at least one physical book during vacation.

At Uppsala City Library an increased interest is noticeable during the summer. More visitors come in to get book tips and ask questions.

Erika Ansén, library guide, says reading is a stimulating way to get new thoughts and learn things. She stresses that reading should not feel obligatory and that joy in choosing the books is most important.
