Rising artist Sombr delivered an energetic set at Coachella, closing with his hit '12 to 12' and featuring a surprise appearance by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. The duo performed 'Speed' and '1979' together. The performance marked Corgan's Coachella debut.
Sombr took the stage at Coachella on Saturday for a set packed with his recent hits. He opened with 'Homewrecker' and included 'Back to Friends,' 'Undressed,' 'Never Even Dated,' and 'Come Closer.' Early in the show, during 'Come Closer,' Sombr urged the crowd, 'If you think you’re too cool to jump, go to another fucking set.' The screens lit up for 'Never Even Dated,' matching his leather and lace outfit as fans jumped in response. The pop-rock hit '12 to 12' closed the set, sparking the loudest cheers and propulsive jumps of the night. Sombr had anticipated the moment, posting on TikTok in October, 'This song is gonna go crazy at Sombchella.' He teased future ambitions, declaring, 'See you back here when I fucking headline.' Billy Corgan joined for 'Speed' and '1979,' handling vocals and guitars in his first Coachella appearance. During 'Back to Friends,' the stage displayed 'You are the reason,' with Sombr adding, 'Love is the reason. Coachella is the reason.' This follows Sombr's Late Nights & Young Romance Tour last month, which featured guests like Niall Horan and Joe Jonas after nearly 70 shows. Earlier this year, he performed '12 to 12' from his debut album I Barely Know Her at the Grammys, where he was nominated for Best New Artist alongside Katseye and Addison Rae.
