At the second ISU Speed Skating World Cup of the 2025-2026 season held at the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Canada, Kim Jun-ho finished third in the men's 500 meters with a time of 33.99 seconds, securing bronze. This followed his gold medal win in the first 500m race the previous day with the identical time of 33.99 seconds, where he finished ahead of Jenning De Boo of the Netherlands and Jordan Stolz of the United States.
On Sunday (local time), Stolz claimed gold in 33.79 seconds, while Damian Zurek of Poland took silver in 33.85 seconds. Kim had the third-fastest opening 100m split at 9.45 seconds, faster than both Stolz and Zurek, but closed in 24.54 seconds, compared to Stolz's 24.26 and Zurek's 24.16.
Through two World Cup events, Kim now has three medals, including bronze from the season opener in Utah on November 16, where he set a national record of 33.78 seconds. Also on Sunday in Calgary, Chung Jae-won earned silver in the men's mass start with 7:42.74, 0.23 seconds behind winner Andrea Giovannini of Italy, while Stolz took bronze in 7:42.83.
