Steelers long snapper shares nerves ahead of new camp

Pittsburgh Steelers veteran long snapper Christian Kuntz said he feels a mix of nerves and excitement as he prepares for his first training camp under new head coach Mike McCarthy.

Kuntz spoke about the upcoming camp five days before the team is scheduled to arrive at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe.

The session marks the first time in 20 years that the Steelers will hold training camp without Mike Tomlin as head coach. McCarthy takes over, bringing a new schedule and different expectations for players.

“I feel like this camp is gonna be…I’m indifferent about it because I don’t know what’s gonna happen,” Kuntz said. “Like I don’t know, you know? It feels like my first training camp again.”

Kuntz, the only long snapper on the roster, added that the feeling is a “good nervous” and that he is anxious to perform well under the new staff.
