Spain's State Meteorological Agency forecasts storms and hail in Madrid this Saturday, with a weekend of rain and falling temperatures across much of the peninsula.
Instability caused by a low-pressure system west of Portugal and another in the Mediterranean will affect the peninsula this weekend. AEMET has issued a yellow warning for the Sierra de Madrid, the metropolitan area and the Henares basin due to heavy showers with storms and possible hail during central hours on Saturday.
Rainfall will be widespread on Saturday, most intense in the Sierra, and will ease on Sunday though showers will continue in the north and west. Eleven autonomous communities will be under yellow alert on Saturday, with only Galicia retaining the warning on Sunday.
Temperatures will drop noticeably, especially on Sunday. Madrid will see highs fall from 22 degrees on Saturday to around 19 on Sunday, with lows below 15 degrees across most of the region and 7 degrees in parts of the Sierra.
