Summer coaching camps launch across Vizag district

The District Sports Authority of Visakhapatnam launched 65 annual summer coaching camps across 28 sports disciplines on Friday. Aimed at children aged 8-16, the camps will run until May 31 in rural and urban centres. The initiative seeks to identify talent and promote healthy lifestyles during summer vacations.

The District Sports Authority of Visakhapatnam launched 65 annual summer coaching camps on Friday across rural and urban centres of the district. Organised under the aegis of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), the camps cover 28 sports disciplines.

Targeted at children aged 8-16, the programme introduces them to structured sports training at an early stage. It will continue until May 31.

District Sports Development Officer June Gallyot said the initiative is intended "to identify promising talent, encourage children to make constructive use of their summer vacation, and promote a healthy lifestyle through regular sporting activity."
