Tesla hires Gary Jiang for Terafab chip project

Tesla has appointed semiconductor industry veteran Gary Jiang as director of its Terafab chip fabrication initiative in Austin.

The electric vehicle maker selected Jiang, who spent nearly 18 years at Intel in semiconductor manufacturing, for the role.

Jiang has listed his position at Tesla as “Director, Tera Fab.”

The hire marks Tesla's first major addition to the Terafab effort, which focuses on chip production in Austin.
