Tesla will increase weekly production at its Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg plant to 7,500 vehicles starting in October. The company also plans to hire 1,000 additional workers to support the expansion.
Tesla announced the production increase on June 25. The move follows a rebound in European demand after weaker sales in 2025. The plant currently produces the Model Y for the European market.
The October target represents a 20 percent rise from the prior goal of around 6,200 vehicles per week. That earlier increase is scheduled to begin in July and was supported by 1,000 new hires announced in April.
Tesla also confirmed plans to expand battery cell production at the site. The battery factory is set to reach 18 GWh of output starting in 2027, creating another 1,500 jobs. Combined with the vehicle assembly hires, the company said 3,500 additional positions will be added in the short and medium term.
Higher fuel prices across Europe and renewed incentive programs have contributed to stronger electric vehicle registrations in recent months. Tesla cited the improved demand as the reason for scaling up output at the Grünheide facility.
