Tesla VP teases FSD v14.1.2 with new feature debut

Tesla's VP of AI, Ashok Elluswamy, announced that Full Self-Driving version 14.1.2 will roll out to early access users today, including a much-awaited new feature. The update is expected to introduce 'Banish,' a reverse summon capability allowing the car to park itself after dropping off the driver. This follows recent teases from Elon Musk about the feature.

In a post on X, Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla's VP of AI, revealed that FSD v14.1.2 is beginning its rollout to early access users on October 15, 2025. The update includes bug fixes alongside a 'much-awaited feature' set to debut, which Elluswamy described as: 'FSD v14.1.2, going to early access today, will debut a much awaited feature 🏎️💨'.

Speculation centers on 'Banish,' also known as Reverse Summon or Park Seek, which enables the driver to exit near a building entrance while the vehicle autonomously finds and occupies a parking spot. This functionality reverses Smart Summon, where the car comes to the user; instead, Banish handles drop-off and self-parking. It builds on FSD v14.1's parking options, such as curbside, parking lots, chargers, or garages, but operates without anyone inside the vehicle.

Elon Musk teased Banish several days prior, expressing excitement without new details. The feature echoes Musk's 2022 comments on parking choices like 'closest to the door,' 'near cart returns,' or 'end of the parking lot.' However, implementation may differ after three years of development.

Users can expect Banish to function similarly to Actually Smart Summon, requiring a button press in the Tesla app and monitoring via live camera feeds. While not fully hands-free, it promises utility in specific scenarios, enhancing FSD's autonomous parking capabilities amid ongoing advancements in Tesla's AI-driven software.
