A 36-year-old Texas man faces charges of injury to a child after allegedly leaving a toddler unsupervised in a bathtub, resulting in severe burns from scalding water. Bobby Fisher was arrested this week in McLennan County following an investigation into the November 2025 incident. He reportedly delayed medical care for four days out of fear of getting in trouble.
Waco police arrested Bobby Fisher on Wednesday, according to local reports. The incident occurred in November 2025 while Fisher was living with the victim's mother and watching the child. He allegedly left the toddler alone in the bathtub to grab a diaper, claiming she turned on the hot water herself. When he returned, he saw steam rising but did not check the temperature before turning on the shower to wash her, at which point her skin began falling off onto the washcloth, per the arrest warrant obtained by KWTX, a local CBS affiliate. The child suffered third-degree burns with significant skin removal on her buttocks, police said in the warrant. Fisher admitted to leaving her unsupervised but told detectives he feared trouble and thus did not take her to a hospital or inform her mother for four days. Police first learned of the injuries on December 22, 2025, after the victim complained of pain to another child in the household. The other child told their mother, who discovered bloody and pink wounds and took the girl to a medical center. There, investigators heard the toddler say, 'Mr. Fisher hurt her butt in the bathroom.' Fisher is being held in McLennan County on a $10,000 bond.
