Deputies responded to a home on Trails End Road after Justin Blount called 911 at about 8 a.m. on Monday to report finding his father dead. James Raymond Blount was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said evidence showed Justin Blount used his father's credit cards without permission. Investigators later concluded he was responsible for the killing as well. Justin Blount was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on the charges of murder and credit or debit card abuse against an elderly individual. Friends remembered James Blount as a respected horseman and community member who was known for his generosity.
