Third round of Clean Ethiopia Movement launches in Afar Region

Ethiopia's Environment Protection Authority announced the launch of the third round of the Clean Ethiopia Movement in the Afar region. The campaign will run for three months.

A statement from Addis Ababa indicated that Director General Dr. Lelise Nemi said the previous two years of campaigns had reached a wide segment of the community.

This round will focus on reducing plastics, chemicals and noise pollution. Developments must be carried out without harming the environment, she noted.

The authority also introduced a digital reporting system developed with the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute. Users can submit reports on pollution, chemicals and hazardous waste through video, photos and text.
