Twelve former WWE stars become free agents after non-compete clauses expire

Twelve wrestlers released by WWE in April have now completed their 90-day non-compete periods and are free to sign with any promotion.

The group includes Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, the Motor City Machine Guns, Santos Escobar, Zoey Stark, Bo Dallas, Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis. Most were part of the post-WrestleMania talent cuts announced earlier this year.

Kairi Sane, who had asked for her release to return to Japan, posted a motorcycle photo on social media this morning. Santos Escobar used his own post to reflect on his six years with the company while criticizing WWE President Nick Khan and Paul "Triple H" Levesque.

Nikki Cross, now competing as Nikki Storm, is scheduled for appearances in PROGRESS Wrestling and Maple Leaf Pro. Joe Gacy released a Wyatt Sicks-themed video last month. The Motor City Machine Guns uploaded a skit teasing a new contract, which fans speculate could involve All Elite Wrestling.

Zoey Stark, now known as Zoey Serrano, is entered in the RevPro Women's Grand Prix 2026. Aleister Black has no announced plans, though Zelina Vega filed a trademark for the name "Xelina" for wrestling-related entertainment services.
