Two motor gang students arrested in Binjai over planned brawl

Binjai police arrested two teenagers from a motor gang on Saturday morning as they prepared for a brawl in the area. The action followed a community tip-off, with officers seizing corbek sharp weapons and motorcycles. The suspects are now under further investigation.

Binjai police station secured two students affiliated with a motor gang as they were about to engage in a brawl on Saturday, April 4, 2026, around 04:00 WIB. The arrests took place on Jalan Tengku Amir Hamzah, Kelurahan Jati Utomo, Kecamatan Binjai Utara, Kota Binjai.

Kapolres Binjai AKBP Mirzal Maulana explained that the arrests stemmed from community information about a planned gang fight at the location. "We received information from the community that motor gangs were going to brawl on Jalan Tengku Amir Hamzah. Subsequently, the on-duty Sat Reskrim picket and Tim Cobra immediately conducted an investigation at the scene," Mirzal said.

Kasat Reskrim Polres Binjai AKP Hizkia Siagian added that the team found a group of motor gang members carrying sharp weapons. "It is true there was a gathering of motor gangs carrying sharp weapons intending to brawl. The team immediately took police action and secured the perpetrators along with evidence," Hizkia stated.

The secured suspects are A (16), a student from Kebun Lada, Kecamatan Binjai Utara, and F (15), a student from Kecamatan Sunggal. Seized evidence includes one black Yamaha NMAX motorcycle without license plate, one black Honda Beat with plate BK 4777 AND, one Oppo A16 cellphone, and two corbek blades.

All suspects and evidence have been brought to Polres Binjai for further investigation.
