A car carrying five people rolled over on länsväg 685 outside Jönköping and caught fire on Friday evening. Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the other three received on-site medical checks. Rescue services extinguished the fire just before 22:00.
The alert for the single-vehicle accident came at around 20:45 on Friday on länsväg 685 outside Jönköping. The car rolled into the forest and burst into intense flames, according to police spokesperson Olle Älveroth.
All five occupants managed to exit the vehicle on their own. Two were assessed as seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance, while the other three received medical checks at the scene.
Rescue services leader Håkan Grunditz praised two private individuals who arrived quickly to help. "They heard the crash and came to the rescue and, as I understand it, did heroic work," he told Jönköpings-Posten.
Rescue services reported the fire extinguished just before 22:00. Police have seized the car for technical examination.
