Tyla sang South Africa’s national anthem at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony last night. The Johannesburg-born singer performed with the Mzansi Youth Choir while wearing a custom white dress and manicure that featured subtle tributes to her home country.
The artist delivered the rendition to a large crowd at the event. Her nails, created by artist Coca Michelle, featured an elongated almond shape with white polish on top and a hand-painted South African flag visible on the underside.
Tyla wore a halterneck silk dress designed by Ellie Misner, which included South African flag details along the borders and a warped hoop skirt. The look was styled by Lee Trigg and paired with makeup by Adam Blends that featured warm blush and a glossy pink lip.
The performer is scheduled to appear next at an opening ceremony in Los Angeles alongside Katy Perry, Future, Lisa and Anitta.
