A workplace accident in Australia left police officer Ben with a severely damaged wrist. He has traveled to Uppsala for a specialized operation that could preserve his career.
A workplace accident in Australia caused arthritis in Ben's wrist. He had only been offered a prosthesis in his home country that would have limited him to lifting at most nine kilograms.
Ben found a scientific article by surgeon Torbjörn Vedung at Elisabethsjukhuset in Uppsala. The method has previously been used on six patients with good results.
Torbjörn Vedung states that patients have gone from pain level nine to virtually no pain. The operation is only possible for people under 40 years old. Ben says he is a little nervous but believes he is in safe hands.
