Valnet rolls out pay per session model at TheGamer

Valnet has introduced new contracts for writers and editors at TheGamer that tie all pay to article views. The changes took effect on May 22 after being shared with staff on May 21. Writers and editors now face the possibility of receiving no compensation if their work fails to meet a minimum view threshold.

Under the new structure writers earn five dollars for every one thousand sessions while editors receive three dollars per thousand sessions. Payment applies only to the first fifteen days after publication. Staff members on permalance contracts make up almost the entire team at the site.
