Valve begins showing Steam Machine compatibility ratings on Steam

Valve started displaying Steam Machine compatibility ratings on Steam store pages last night. The ratings appear under a new tab in the existing Steam Deck compatibility section.

The company announced the expansion of its verification program to the Steam Machine about a month ago. Ratings now indicate whether games run well at 1080p and 30 FPS on the hardware.

Many titles that run on SteamOS but exceed Steam Deck limits show an “Unknown” status for the Steam Machine. Valve states it is “still learning about” these games.

Users can access the ratings by clicking “Learn more” next to Steam Deck compatibility details on store pages. Some games rated Playable on the Deck, such as 007: First Light, receive Verified status on the Steam Machine due to larger screen size.

Dota 2 remains listed as Playable because of occasional on-screen keyboard needs. A Valve representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
