Veritas Resources acquires 100% of El Alacrán project in Córdoba

Córdoba Minerals confirmed that Veritas Resources AG acquired 100% of the copper project El Alacrán, located in southern Córdoba, backed by an international consortium led by JCHX Mining Management. The project, which includes reserves of copper, gold, and silver, awaits environmental licensing from ANLA to proceed. This transaction marks a new phase in its development, emphasizing sustainability and regional socioeconomic impact.

The El Alacrán project, managed by subsidiaries of Córdoba Minerals Corp., has been fully acquired by Veritas Resources AG through the purchase of Minerales Córdoba S.A.S. and Exploradora Córdoba S.A.S. This deal, supported by an international consortium led by the Chinese firm JCHX Mining Management, highlights global interest in the site's potential, spanning nearly 20,000 hectares in rural Puerto Libertador, Córdoba.

El Alacrán focuses on copper-gold-silver deposits, including the main El Alacrán deposit and satellites such as Alacrán Norte, Montiel Este, Montiel Oeste, and Costa Azul. By 2023, 85,499.35 meters of diamond drilling across 422 holes had been completed since 1987. A feasibility study launched in December 2023 outlines a long-life, low-cost open-pit mining operation. Earlier, a Plan of Works and Activities (PTO) was filed in November 2021, followed by an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in December 2023.

The project now awaits environmental licensing from the National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA) to begin construction. The consortium will take over operations, retaining Colombian staff and evolving the brand. Córdoba Minerals states that this phase reinforces commitments to safety, community welfare, and environmental care, without affecting legal or regulatory obligations. The transaction aims to solidify the project's strategic potential, fostering employment, taxes, and economic growth in southern Córdoba.
