Former governor Romeu Zema gave an interview on Thursday to the VEJA em Foco newscast and maintained criticism of Flávio Bolsonaro while pledging support for any candidate facing the PT in the runoff.
Zema, pre-candidate for Novo, was interviewed by Marcela Rahal. He stated that he does not retract “a single comma” of his criticism of Flávio over ties to former banker Daniel Vorcaro. The presidential hopeful said that “anyone who gets close to a criminal drops a lot in my estimation” and that he was “extremely indignant”. Even so, Zema stressed that “anyone who is against the PT in the second round will have my support”. He mentioned a recent meeting with Flávio Bolsonaro and Ronaldo Caiado and predicted right-wing unity in the runoff. According to Zema, “despite these divergences of ours we will all be together in the second round against the PT”.
