Avowed releases PS5 version alongside anniversary update

Obsidian Entertainment has launched Avowed on PlayStation 5, one year after its initial release on Xbox and PC. The anniversary update, Patch 2.0, introduces New Game Plus mode, three new playable races, a photo mode, and a new weapon type. These additions aim to enhance replayability and accessibility for both new and returning players.
Owners of the base edition of The Outer Worlds encountered problems claiming a promised free upgrade to the Spacer's Choice Edition on consoles. The issues arose after the original version was delisted at the end of May.

He previously contributed remotely to The Outer Worlds 2 as a contractor.

Chris Avellone, co-founder of Obsidian Entertainment, revealed on X that the studio is not planning The Outer Worlds 3 while focusing on Avowed 2 and DLC for The Outer Worlds 2. This statement comes shortly after The Outer Worlds 2's launch on October 29 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series S|X. Avowed, released earlier in 2025, has shown mixed success on Game Pass.
