A French retailer has launched the Stim Machine, the first knock-off of Valve's Steam Machine. Priced at €1,039, it matches the base Steam Machine in cost but uses more powerful components.

Bobby Prince, the composer behind the soundtracks for Doom, Wolfenstein 3D and Duke Nukem 3D, has died at the age of 81. His family confirmed he passed away peacefully on 16 June.

Valve has confirmed that both its Steam Machine console-like PC and Steam Frame VR headset will ship this summer. The announcement came in a blog post that also detailed updates to the company's Verified program for the new devices.

The game Plantation Simulator is no longer available for purchase on Steam after its developer asked Valve to take it down. The removal occurred on May 26 following an update posted by the developer on May 24.
