Un ministre du Bihar risque de perdre son poste après avoir été écarté des élections

Deepak Prakash, fils du chef du Rashtriya Lok Morcha Upendra Kushwaha, n'a pas été investi par la NDA pour l'élection au Conseil législatif du Bihar prévue le 18 juin. Nommé ministre du Panchayati Raj le 7 mai, il doit obtenir un siège législatif dans un délai de six mois pour conserver ses fonctions.

Neuf candidats de la NDA ont déposé leur dossier lundi pour les neuf sièges à pourvoir. Prakash ne figurait pas sur la liste. Aucun siège ne sera vacant au sein du Conseil avant mars 2027. Kushwaha, présent à Patna, s'est adressé aux journalistes après la clôture des candidatures. Il a déclaré que l'affaire était close et a souhaité bonne chance aux candidats de la NDA. Il a nié tout mécontentement envers les dirigeants de la coalition, précisant que son fils resterait ministre aussi longtemps que la NDA le souhaiterait. Les candidats incluent quatre membres du JD(U), quatre du BJP et un du Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). Le RJD, dans l'opposition, a présenté un candidat pour un siège.
